About
The Lammas Games - Lughnasadh at Play!
featuring 🇹🇭🇪 🇬🇦🇲🇪 🇴🇫 🇬🇦🇲🇪🇸❗
Markfield Park, N15 4RB. 1st of August 2pm - until there's still enough people to pack up easily and go for a boogie!
The First Harvest of the year is here and games are afoot 🦶🏼…
TL:DR: Wear bright comfy clothes in one of these team colours… 🔴🟢🟡🔵
…and be ready to play and create nonsense games for even more nonsense prizes! (ps, bring a prize, and food!)
Let's skip the pre-amble, this day is all about action, instinct, intellect, and immediacy!
2:00 PM | Opening the Circle
Setting the space together. Let the games begin! Bring a prize to contribute! Make it nonsense! Bring it to the Prize Table! That's it! Why are you still reading? Shoo! Vamos! Skedaddle!
2:10 PM | Icebreakers
Fun, playful games to connect with fellow revellers (name games and the like).
3:00 PM | Meet the Trees
So, you get blind-folded, brought to a tree, taken for a spin, then your eyesight is restored and you have to find the tree again!
Eaaaasy!
3:30 PM | - Fire Lighting
A moment to light the Fountayne Fire 🔥 as one does at these occasions
4:00 PM | "The Game of Games" Competition Workshop
Madness, you're going to team up with new friends and create a game together, work out all the rules, then play it in front of an audience. Figure out your own way of choosing the team colour you'll arrive in out of these… 🔴🟢🟡🔵… and dress up loud and proud! If this isn't your thing bring games you'd like to play by the fireside or wherever.
5:30 PM | "The Game of Games" Finalé
Each team has 15m to present their game being played and then discuss it with the audience. The audience give marks out of 19 for Fun, Understandability, and Nonsense!
And Then | Dinner Time, followed by Stories, Songs, and more…
Bring things to share, the more delicious the better, homemade to the front, safely foraged for the win (mmm, blackberries), label allergens if possible! (Also, bring a cup, cutlery, and a lidded container as a bowl so you can take food home.) After that we open up the floor to stories, songs, and ideas, expect an open circle conversation and space for anyone to share whatever they like on the themes of the day.
Essentials…
🥣 Your own cup, bowl, and cutlery and empty container
🪑Something to sit on, chair, rug, cushions etc
🌤️ Clothing for the Season
🫗 Hydration, Libations, and Delicious Juices
Great to bring…
🥗🥧 Food to Share! - Ideally something home made and labelled with dietaries. Be mindful of packaging. No crisps or dips just because you feel like you need to bring something; we normally have a plenty, if in doubt, go small and delicious rather than big and bland.
🕹️🏸 Gamey things! Cones, hoops, little bean bags, party games, sports day favourites, and anything that could be helpful when designing a game
🧩Fun little sit down games, quick and easy.
🏆Prizes! Trophies, trinkets, that weird gift you got from your uncle a few years ago, a cool snail shell that you’ve found.
🤺🏋️A great outfit - Sportswear recommended but its also a celebration, so turn it up… in your randomly chosen team colour: 🔵🟡🟢_🔴_
🗿🌻 Offerings for the altar: An object that you want to get energised with the spirit of play, something seasonal to celebrate the Summer.
