Photography in Medias-Res

How do photographs shape the ways we remember, understand and narrate history? Inspired by Grip, Hold, Pin, this workshop with Managing Editor of TAKE on Art Dilpreet Bhullar explores the art of writing about photography. Through close readings, discussions and writing exercises, participants will consider how photographs construct meaning, and what they reveal or leave unsaid about memory, identity and history. Moving between exhibition reviews, critical essays and personal responses, the workshop invites participants to slow down, look closely and develop new ways of writing about images. Participants are required to bring a personal photograph or an object of their choice as a starting point for reflection and writing.
