About

The revolution is regulated and it begins with belonging - in our bodies, to the earth, and to each other.
Rooted We Rise is a weekend sanctuary retreat for activists, community builders, and creatives who refuse to accept burnout and disconnection as the basis for the change we're working towards.
This retreat is for anyone taking action (or wanting to) for positive change in the world - whatever your cause - who needs to resource and feel more supported in your work, from the ground up.

Rooted We Rise is a soulful collaboration of activists, creatives, and healers **forging a culture of rebellious resourcing. **
The world we're building has to be created from a different place than the one we're resisting - and if we're going to be in it for the long run, we need to root deep and build capacity from the ground up.

Tending to our nervous systems is not a luxury. It is vital movement-building work.
In our hyper-individualistic materialist society, **many of us have become disconnected from our greatest allies - the earth beneath us, the nervous systems that carry us, and the people around us. **
Rooted We Rise is the antidote to that - reconnecting you with these allies, **resourcing you to continue in your work from a place of grounded connection. **
Held in the ancient temperate rainforest of Domnu Valley, near the Valley of Rocks, North Devon - we welcome you to the sacred lands that are home to the living regenerative community project we've been cultivating for the past two years.

Join us for a curated weekend of held spaces, practices and workshops that will support your homecoming to what was always here:
Belonging in our bodies
Safely held spaces to land in your body, release the stress it's been storing, and tap into the deep wisdom of your inner compass - your nervous system.
- Guided morning grounding somatic practices
- Conscious Connected Breathwork ceremony with live musical accompaniment
- Somatics workshop with bodywork and breathwork practitioner and educator, Pippa Downs (Inner Sage Somatics).

Belonging to the land
Reconnect to the spirit of the land and cultivate your own connection with the deep wisdom of our plant and more-than-human allies.
- Animism workshop with Fern Raine (XR movement)
- Guided foraging walk with Zena Winterbottom (The Native Herbalist)
- Sauna session and cold dips in the streams that run through our valley.

Belonging to each other
Co-regulation and collective visioning through play and creativity to inspire active hope and remember we are not alone.
- Storytelling and courageous imagination workshop
- Authentic Relating workshop with Pippa, learning takeaway skills to support you in connecting through words while staying grounded in the body
- Fireside musical jams in the teepee with songs of hope and resistance

You can't pour from an empty cup, and **the world needs you in flow! **
Come. Let Mama Domnu hold you for a weekend. Let your nervous system remember what regulation feels like - and carry that back out with you into the work that matters.

About the Organiser
Pippa is a breathworker, bodyworker, and nervous system educator. After diving deep into activism for many years, supporting homeless people and asylum seekers in northern France & the UK, she burned out. Her recovery lead her to a 4 year deep dive into the worlds of somatics and spirituality.
Having completed multiple trainings and become an educator herself, Pippa has trained over 100 practitioners in the Triple Vagal Method™. Rooted We Rise is her return to the world of activism, now bringing these valuable tools of nervous system regulation to those doing the work of change.
